Caesars Internet Marketing & Gaming

Caesars Entertainment, the worlds largest provider of casino entertainment. Caesars operates more than 50 resorts in six countries. Caesars also owns the London Clubs International family of casinos and the World Series of Poker. There biggest competitor in Las Vegas is MGM, just like them, Caesars uses a wide variety of social media and E-Marketing to attract a larger amount of customers. Also, due to the technological advancement in the past decade.

Eric Petersen

Director of New Media at Caesars Entertainment Corporation

This is the man in charge of all media at Caesars Entertainment. Social Media presence is a huge thing, this being Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. E-Marketing is a very important thing when it comes to attracting customers to your hotel for entertainment and gaming. Without it your customer acquisition and retention rates would be meniscal compared to those participating in Internet use to attract guests.

Caesars Deals, this link shows just how important the Internet use really is. This site alone shows you all the best deals with one click of a button, each and every hotel owned by Caesars is listed on here with different deals and percentages off rooms, shows, dinners, and much much more. Without this Internet customers wouldn't know all the great offers going on, nor would they try to call each and every hotel to find the cheapest. Some still would probably do the research and stay with them but more often then not the customer wouldn't, and in turn find another corporation online that is quick and easy to not only book, but to also find wonderful deals.
This screenshot above is currently on Caesars frontpage of there Internet Site

The above link shows even more of how important and big the internet it. It explains of Caesars plans to set up a online poker room if congress passing the online poker bills. Caesars also currently has online casinos in France, the UK, and in Italy. This would be colossal if it passes, it would just be more and more profit and customers for Caesars.

Social Media in Gaming

Facebook and Twitter, two of the most popular social media websites in the World, making up a total of over 700 million users. With this growing number of popularity you would thing that the Vegas gaming scene and that around the world would be getting on board. Well, if you guesses this then you are 100% correct. Below is the demographic of Facebook users vs Twitter users and how it is all broken down, followed by a little emphasis of how the gaming industries use these two colossal giants, I mean come on, these 2 are listed in the top 5 most visited sites online.
Demographic Breakdown

Las Vegas,  the number one gambling destination in the world, it should come to no surprise that this amazing city is leading the way in hotel social media marketing. Some of popular properties that play a role in this include; Planet Hollywood, Palms Las Vegas and Caesar’s Palace to name a few, are fully embracing social media by using it as deals for packages, promotions and contests. Many bars also use the "like" on Facebook to get complimentary drink coupons and such like that. By using these kinds of social media it allows these resorts to narrow down target markets in ways that help them build relationships with users and get to know them a little better. They also attract new customers and expand their overall reach to more users than would ever be possible before.

Palms Las Vegas, developing a Klout Klub. This being  ranking system that assigns a score to each and every person based on his/her ability to influence others through social networks. By using this rare tool, to their advantage by giving guests with high Klout scores a celebrity style visit with upgraded rooms and dining, including extra amenities and exceptional service all based on that of the internet. But don't forget, this is all done to help the hotel receive the status and publicity to reach a height no other traditional media outlets are incapable of doing. This would make a huge boom and little work would be needed once the technological system is input.
Caesar’s Entertainment  plans to reach their social audience through a new kind of "check-in". Visitors at Caesars Vegas hotels like Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, and Paris Las Vegas can, and others can now receive Total Rewards® points ( players card ) simply by ‘checking-in’ or taking pictures on Foursquare, Facebook and other popular social based services. With this in the arsenal, it could most defiantly help boost positive sentiment, also get new guests in the door and create a greater social presence by the more pictures and check ins, the more rewards and benefits, I love it.

With customer service calls being annoying due to the waiting or auto response questions and answers, the Wynn Las Vegas has made a whole new type of twitter account. One in which customers can tweet their questions and in turn the employees would get back to them in a very timely manner rather than messing with the phone. This causing huge gain in the social status of the hotel surpassing the others. Below, an example of the Twitter page with responses and questions.

Internet Gaming and Advertising

E-Gaming, how popular is it really? Below is a short clip of a particular advertisement for online casino, along with different forms of online gaming and how popular it really his, some statistics are very shocking

According to the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), online advertising generated $8.2 billion in 2000, and Forrester Research estimates that by the year 2010 Internet advertising will reach $40 billion worldwide.
Banner ads remained the most popular form of online advertising, representing 53% of the market, followed by sponsorship, representing 30% of the market. According to a recent study conducted by advertising research firm, AOL and lpsos-ASI, after an initial viewing, consumers are just as likely to remember an online banner ad as they are a television commercial.Recent statistic also state that internet users double every six months. The head of the UN telecommunications agency recently stated that "At the beginning of the year 2000 there were only 500 million mobile subscriptions globally and 250 million Internet users," he said. "By the beginning of this year 2011 those numbers have mushroomed to over five billion mobile users and two billion subscribers to the Internet," .Millions join the ranks of Internet users each and every day. Businesses large and small now include their website addresses on their business cards and in their promotional materials. The estimated number of cellphone subscriptions worldwide reached 5.28 billion at the end of the last year, compared to 4.66 billion at the end of 2009, this adding to that high number of internet gaming users due to the technology and popularity of the smartphones. These figures alone show how important the internet is, but how does it play a role in the gaming industry.

Above are a few of the growing gaming that is available online. Casinos, lotteries and sportsbooks dominate the  online market, allowing customers with an Internet connection and a credit card to gamble literally anywhere in the world. This making it more convenient, I myself am guilty of having an online betting account so that I don't have to drive to the sports book, I can wake-up in the morning have some breakfast and place a bet at the same time. Many of my friends also have it so I know it is a very popular thing. Most successful services are turning over more than $2 million weekly and this is just the beginning. One Investment firm Merrill Lynch, estimates Net betting will generate in excess of $82 billion in gross revenues  by 2013, with more than $35 billion coming from online sports betting companies. Gaming today is recognized as the highest grossing form of entertainment in the world, the internet just makes it even bigger. The potential and power of the Internet continues to increase on a weekly bases and gambling could be the biggest online business of all. One simple commercial is all it takes, one simple win and you are hooked, take me for example.

$$$MGM Internet Marketing$$$

MGM Resorts International is one of the biggest entertainment and hospitality corporations in the world. In Las Vegas alone, MGM owns 14 different Hotel and Casino's. Some of the big names being; Bellagio, Aria, MGM, Mandalay Bay, the Mirage and many more. They have five resorts owned out of Las Vegas, and a few International. How big is MGM actually worth do you ask? Well, around a whopping four billion dollars. Every year an average of 36.7 million people visit Las Vegas, question is how does MGM attract these larges numbers of people to stay at there resorts? Below are a few of the ways they advertise online.

The above image is currently on the MGM Resorts page, the link below it takes you to this site. On this site you will find the six resorts that are currently participating in this great deal and each deal that they off. This markets to those college spring breakers, which is a very large amount. Each hotel lists the 2-for-1 admissions, drink coupons, party passes and much, much more. The good think is that MGM makes it so easy to book, below each hotel lists a book now tab that you click on and pay, easy as that. If that doesn't work they also list a phone number. This is a good marketing tactic because college good don't want it to be difficult to book a spring break trip and have to do all this research and call to find things out, I know that when I had to do that is was very difficult. So this site makes it easy as 1-2-3.

                                                                                          Mlife

Above is another marketing tactic that MGM uses that makes there so successful. MLife, the players card that racks up points that you can use for dinners, shows, rooms and much more.Mlife, you win when you spend, the rewards program gives you the power to earn benefits for virtually every dollar you spend. The above links takes you straight to their main page for this that really hooks them in. Knowing everything that you can get my having this card is what sucks the tourists in. MGM as you can see knows what there doing by attracting people and I see them doing nothing less in the future.
